How to releive headache using visualizaton technique by Arina Nikitina

Visualization is widely used in treating headaches. Your mind has enormous power over your body. For example, if you were under hypnotic sleep, and I were to put a piece of round paper to your skin and tell you it's a burning hot penny, you would get a burn in that place. Your mind did that. And similarly it has enough power to cure you from any headaches. All you have to do is imagine!

It has no side effects, no age limit and it won't cost you anything. I have to warn you though it will require some brain work. Just a little bit. So if you think you're up to the task, I'm going to explain to you how it works.

First take a couple deep breaths and try to relax. Then imagine your headache as a big, spiky, red ball stacked inside your head. Keep breathing deeply and regularly. Now gradually change ball's characteristics. Visualize how it's getting smaller, smoother and changes its color to green. Zoom it out of your head until it disappears completely.

Or you can think about the image that your headache gives you and than destroy it in your mind. For example, if your head is on fire, you can imagine cold water being slowly poured on the flames until there is no more flames left, but just the tiny embers glowing once in a while. Soon they will be extinguished.

For migraine headaches you can imagine a red, pulsating balloon. Then visualize making a hole in it with the tiny needle. If you feel especially mean that day, poke it again and again. Make as many holes as you want. Then, imagine how the air slowly comes out of it. It's getting smaller and smaller… It looks like a little crumpled rag now and it's melting away.

Give your imagination full freedom. You will probably need some practice, before you can feel complete pain relief. It takes practice and persistence, just like with any other skill. But don't give up and you'll be rewarded for your patience.
