Leah has been playing soccer since she was seven. Her love of the game led to an interest in the United States Womens™ National Team. Attending her first game in 1996, Leah was hooked as a devoted fan when the players signed autographs after the game for many of the 2,000 fans.

Leah'™s interest in writing led to a one-year assignment as a junior reporter for the X-Press Section of Florida'™s largest newspaper, the St. Petersburg Times. Five of her feature stories focused on women'™s soccer. Leah had the incredible opportunity to interview and/or collect comments from most of the players on the U.S. National Team in 1999, either one-on-one, or in media conferences she attended with the international press.

Leah'™s long list of accomplishments is impressive:
* Honorable Mention, Features, National High School Journalism Competition by NFPW (September, 2004)
* First Place, Features, Eastern At-Large States by the National Federation of Press Women (July 2004)

Leah, today an 18-year-old, is an Honor Roll senior at St. Petersburg Catholic High School in St. Petersburg, Florida. She has attended the Poynter Institute'™s Summer Writing Camp. In her spare time, Leah takes pottery courses and volunteers as a teacher'™s aid for summer campers. She also serves as group leader in Central Christian Church Youth Ministry.
